Refund Policy
Last updated: September 11, 2026
This policy explains refunds and subscription cancellation for the InBrackets iOS app, provided by Artem Avanesian, an independent developer in Poland. It supplements the Terms of Use and does not limit your mandatory consumer rights.
1. Purchases through the App Store
InBrackets iOS subscriptions are purchased through Apple’s in-app purchase system. This website does not currently accept direct subscription payments. For purchases billed by Apple, use Apple’s refund request process. Eligibility depends on your purchase, country or region, applicable law, and Apple’s rules.
This policy does not offer an additional voluntary money-back guarantee or promise that every request will be approved. It also does not make all purchases non-refundable.
2. How to request a refund
Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase, choose the refund request option, and select the InBrackets purchase and reason. Submit the request and follow Apple’s instructions. See Apple’s refund guidance for help locating a charge or requesting support.
Apple handles requests submitted through its system and the return of Apple-billed payments. I cannot guarantee its decision or a particular payment processing time. You may contact me about service defects or billing problems, and this process does not remove any remedy you have against me under applicable law.
3. Canceling a subscription
To stop future renewals, open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → InBrackets and cancel the subscription. If you do not want a free or discounted trial to renew, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Follow the cancellation information shown by Apple for your subscription and region. See Apple’s cancellation instructions.
Cancellation and a refund request are separate actions. Canceling normally leaves access available until the current paid period ends and does not itself refund previous charges. If you request a refund and also want to stop future charges, check your subscription settings. Deleting InBrackets, deleting your InBrackets account, or removing your API key does not cancel an Apple subscription.
4. Service problems and usage allowances
If a paid feature is unavailable, a purchase is not reflected in the app, or your usage allowance appears incorrect, contact me using Section 7. Include a description of the problem, your app version, and the relevant purchase date or transaction identifier if available. Do not send your password, API key, full payment card details, or unrelated private text.
I will investigate issues attributable to InBrackets and provide the correction or other remedy required by law. Contacting support or attempting troubleshooting is not a prerequisite for using Apple’s refund process or exercising statutory rights.
If a purchase is refunded or revoked, the access and usage allowance associated with that purchase may be adjusted. Usage units are not cash and cannot be independently exchanged for money; this does not prevent a refund or another remedy for the underlying purchase where applicable.
5. Custom API Configuration (BYOK)
When you use your own API token in “Custom API Configuration”, any API fees charged by OpenAI, OpenRouter, xAI (Grok), or Mistral are separate from your InBrackets subscription. The provider that charged you handles requests concerning its fees under its own terms and applicable law.
An InBrackets refund does not automatically refund provider usage, and canceling InBrackets does not close a provider account or revoke its API token. I cannot issue a refund from a provider’s billing account. This does not exclude my responsibility for an InBrackets defect or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
6. Your statutory rights
You retain any mandatory rights concerning withdrawal from a contract, defective digital content or services, refunds, price reductions, and other remedies under applicable law. Apple’s purchase terms and the protections available in your country or region also apply.
For consumers in the European Union, distance contracts generally carry a 14-day withdrawal right, subject to the rules and exceptions for the particular supply. For digital content supplied immediately, loss of that right requires the legally necessary prior express consent and acknowledgment. Accepting this policy or merely using the app does not by itself waive your rights. A statutory withdrawal right is separate from remedies for a defective service.
For an Apple-billed purchase, follow the withdrawal or refund procedure in Apple’s applicable purchase terms. You can also contact me by email or post with a clear statement identifying the purchase and the remedy you seek. If your request concerns an obligation for which I am responsible, I will handle it within the period required by law. Nothing here requires you to give a reason where the law permits withdrawal without one.
